- Remember Jeff Samardzija? Brady Quinn's go-to receiver at Notre Dame? He's pitching for the Cubs now. And getting paid $10 million to do it.
- ATTENTION DODGER FANS: In an attempt to bolster our laughable offense, we have acquired a decent bat in third baseman Casey Blake. Nothing to get too excited over, since every bat that migrates to Los Angeles is seemingly sapped of all its former power (J.D. Drew, Nomar Garciaparra, Jeff Kent, Andruw Jones). Maybe our dugout has termites...
- The Yankees CLEARLY need more offense as well. They have thus acquired the respectable bat of Xavier Nady along with reliever Damaso Marte.
- Mike Hampton made his first start in almost three years for the Atlanta Braves today. He gave up 8 hits, 6 runs and struck out 1 in 4 innings. Relax, he hasn't pitched in the majors since 2005. Oh and, he's not very good anyway.
- With superstar names potentially changing teams in the coming weeks, I wonder if pursuing teams will recognize that in reality, Matt Holliday is nothing close to the monster hitter he is at Coors Field (i.e. Vinny Castilla).
